Carri was a beautiful person in every aspect of her life. She absolutely loved being a mom and believed it was her calling. She was also a caring wife, a loving daughter, and a sister who always prioritized having the most fun possible. She loved everyone in her family in a unique way and always found time to show each of us what we meant to her. There was never a moment that Carri's love and passion weren't abundantly evident.
After a long and difficult fight of 16 months, Carri lost her battle with cancer on the morning of September 2nd, 2023. Carri was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM), an incurable brain cancer in May of 2022. A craniotomy removed one of the three tumors and then a long course of chemotherapy and radiation took place in hopes that it would get rid of the two remaining tumors. As Carri has done her entire life, she chose to fight this diagnosis with courage and faith. She said she would continue to fight not just for herself, but for her husband and two young daughters. While following the guidance of her oncologists, she still sought out care that was more aligned with her beliefs as a chiropractor.
Through the help of her naturopathic doctors, she was able to improve her quality of life while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. In May of 2023, MRIs showed that the current standard of care was not effective, and the tumors were still growing. Carri still did not allow this to change her willingness to fight this with every fiber of her being or rattle her faith that victory was achievable. It was then that she decided to head to the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, TX where she underwent antineoplaston treatment, an immunotherapy treatment that has been shown to cure some cancers. Unfortunately, in Carri's journey her disease had progressed to the point where this treatment option was ineffective. Although Carri ultimately succumbed to this terrible disease, she still won her war by staying informed and engaged with all of her treatments and staying true to her beliefs and faith. Her hope was to be the example for the next person - through faith and with some courage, the fight is always worth it.

Carri graduated from Los Angeles Chiropractic College in April of 2004. Before graduating she attended a lecture by the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association (ICPA) given by Dr. Jeanne Ohm, and she realized how much more of an impact she could have on people by treating such a under treated population. She knew immediately that she wanted to be a part of this organization, so she joined the ICPA in December of 2004 and became certified in the Webster technique. After working for a couple of years, Carri realized chiropractic work was something she was very good at, so she decided to open Natural Life Chiropractic in Brea, CA in September of 2004. Due to Carri’s loving and caring nature, her practice immediately flourished, and she had families flocking to her for care. Carri embraced all of her patients by providing a holistic approach to their treatments, helping them prioritize their health for a lifetime. As her practice flourished so too did the need to increase her staff. True to form and just as she did with her patients, Carri treated her staff like her immediate family. During this time, Carri found it very important to take interns into her practice and show them how important it is to care for whole families. She left lifelong impacts on her patients, interns and staff. To this day, each person that Carri interacted with will tell you they are better people for having known her.
As the world was changing, Carri and her family decided that the best decision for them was to relocate to Boise, ID. With a heavy heart, Carri said goodbye to her patients in California and her family started their journey to Boise in 2019. After a year of being in Boise, Carri couldn’t sit idle any longer and opened the new Natural Life Chiropractic in the Treasure Valley. Again, Carri quickly became “the” doctor to see for family health and wellness and had a thriving practice once again. After Carri's initial diagnosis and surgery, she decided to continue practicing, not only because her families needed her but also because those same families brought Carri such fulfillment. As is the case with GBM, her mobility began rapidly decreasing forcing Carri to have to close Natural Life Chiropractic Treasure Valley in December 2022. A testament to Carri's vigilance, she worked tirelessly to ensure her patients’ needs were being addressed through the chiropractic network in the greater Boise area.
Carri's legacy lives on through her daughters, Addison and Sadie, and her husband Jason along with the rest of her family through this foundation.
Through Carri's light and examples she set, we strive to continue her passions.
